Friday, April 9th, 2010

Our game is scheduled for Monday, April 12th @ 8:10pm. This week’s game will be played at Short Pump. Please plan to arrive by 7:45pm; and if you don’t plan on being able to attend the game Monday, please email both Ryan and Jesse to let us know ASAP.

Jesse will not be at the game this week. In his absence Ryan will manage the team and bring the line-up. Lynsey will manage the substitutions and the stats. Good Luck guys! Thank you to Ryan and Lynsey for their help this week.

Exciting Softball News

Friday, April 9th, 2010

I am very excited to announce, on behalf of The Company Softball Team organization, the recent promotions of Ryan Sutphin and Lynsey Leib. Since 2009, and throughout the inaugural season, both Ryan and Lynsey have played critical roles on our club. They have both been very involved in recruiting players in the off season, acting as leaders in the locker room (in our case, the parking lot) and contributing to the team by doing whatever’s necessary.

Please join me in congratulating…

Ryan Sutphin to Assistant Manager, and
Lynsey Leib to Bench Coach.

In their new roles, Ryan will be immediately become more involved making on field game management decisions. Lynsey will continue to manage the team’s in game stats, player substitutions, and now assist in game management decisions from the bench.

Congratulations, Ryan & Lynsey.

Opening Day 2010

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

Monday night, April 5th, marked Opening Day in our Monday Night Co-Rec county softball league.

Pre-game talkThe Company matched up against the 2009 Season Champions, Hit & Run, in week 1.  We pitched well, made some athletic plays in the field, but couldn’t get our bats going going.  Hit & Run swept both games by scoring runs when they had to and playing smart defense.

Good Luck to all the teams in our League this year – we will see you on the field soon!  Keep an eye on the League Standings page, which will be update weekly now that the season has begun.

Hey Company, your stats will be posted in the next day or so.  Notification will be posted on Facebook and Twitter once they are ready to view.  Looking forward to next week!

Shirts are in!

Just a reminder to those of you who are planning to attend the open practice tomorrow – 10:00am at Hunton. Check the website or give me an email if you need directions.

Also – please remember our 1st Game is Monday Night, 8:10pm @ Pouncy Tract. FYI: I hope that Jerseys will arrive later today. Once they are here, I’ll let everyone know.

Have a Happy Easter Weekend!

Softball Scrimmage Canceled 3/29

Monday, March 29th, 2010

The County has canceled today’s scrimmage due to the weather. Because this scrimmage is an addition to our regular season schedule, no make-up game will be scheduled.

Our next scheduled event is Practice- Saturday, 4/3, @ 10:00 at Hunton Field. Please let me know if you are not planning to attend open practice on Saturday; while it is optional this will be our only opportunity to take some batting practice before the season starts next Monday, 4/5.

The Company Softball Team is back in 2010!

Monday, February 15th, 2010

I know that it does not feel like Spring out there, but Softball Season is almost here again.  Henrico County has already contacted us with registration information for this season.

Just like last season, we will opt to play in the Henrico County CoRec-Recreational League: 28 Game Schedule.  Our team registration is due in early March and I expect for games to begin the week of March 29th.   Per person costs will be determined by how many people are on the roster this season and will need to cover our Team Registration Fee ($835.00), any out of County non-residents fees ($15/person that does not live within Henrico County), and team shirts ($TBD).  I expect the per person cost to be around $60 just like it was last season.

Once we get the roster set and collect the money needed to pay our registration dues – we will begin to work on:

  • 2010 TEAM SHIRTS – yes, with numbers; and names this year.
  • Season Kick-Off Happy Hour or Team Party… maybe a Flying Squirrels Game? GO NUTZ!
  • Optional Practices – probably in Mid March, on Saturday Mornings, just like we did last season
  • Website Updates & Confirming Cell Phone Alerts

Let me know if you have any questions at this time. I am looking forward to another season and hopefully this time we can put together a team for the tournament!
